On Saturday, August 12, 2017, my cousin married her dream guy. It was a lovely summer day at a winery in Cambridge, WI. Blue skies filled with cumulous clouds hung over rows of grape vines, which made a beautiful backdrop for a wedding ceremony. What made this day extra special for me was that I wasn’t there as just a guest, but as her wedding photographer.
Isaac stood at the end of the aisle in front of a wooden gazebo, waiting for his bride to arrive and make her way down the aisle. With Suzi’s first step, guests rose to their feet and Isaac took his first look at her. His reaction was priceless – pure happiness washed over him as he smiled and watched her make her way toward him.
They stood in front of their family and friends and promised their lives to each other. They exchanged rings and sealed the ceremony with their first kiss as husband and wife. Guests clapped and cheered as they walked back down the aisle together, smiling and gazing into each other’s eyes, expectant and excited for what forever will bring.
After family and bridal party photos, I stole the happy couple away for some shots in the vineyard. It was magical.
Then we moved into the reception. Carey, Suzi’s sister and bridesmaid, gave a moving speech before we moved into dinner and then dancing. Suzi & Isaac’s first dance was so sweet – they reveled in wedded bliss as they glided across the floor. Sunlight streamed in through the floor-to-ceiling windows as the sun set behind the vineyard.
Guests danced the rest of the night away in celebration of the newlyweds. I was honored to capture Suzi & Isaac’s special day, and incredibly happy to watch my cousin tie the knot with her soulmate. 🙂
