To say this has been an incredible year is a huge understatement. I haven’t paused nearly enough to just truly appreciate all of the incredible love stories I’ve had the honor of capturing this year. I talked a few weeks about all of the things this year has made me grateful for. But today, I want to share some 2022 or 2023 wedding inspiration for all the recently engaged and currently wedding planning couples out there. I will also be taking a moment to reflect on all of the absolutely incredible love stories I have had the pleasure of capturing this year.
Wondering what “it’s been a busy year” really means? I know I’m not the only wedding photographer feeling this way! To give you a little behind the scenes scoop, in 2021 I have had the absolute honor of photographing:
53 Weddings & Elopements
33 Engagement Photo Shoots
39,760 Photos Delivered (and counting!)
Even looking at the numbers I’m having a hard time believing it’s true! There are still many galleries to go but I hope you enjoy this roundup of 2022 and 2023 wedding inspiration across New Jersey, New York and beyond as much as I did putting it together! I can’t wait to see what the next year brings!
Winter Weddings in New Jersey, New York & Beyond
Winter Wedding at Battello in Jersey City | Jessica and Matt | Feb 13, 2021
Kicking off the year, we have Jessica and Matt’s absolutely breathtaking starlit wonder of a wedding at Battello in Jersey City. Seriously, this wedding was a stunner and Jessica and Matt are an absolutely beautiful couple on the inside and out. We started with a church wedding ceremony and then took some winter wedding photos (the bride wore a beautiful fur cover to keep warm!) with their precious dog and vintage getaway car. Battello was dressed up with tall candles, string lighting, and their infamous floor to ceiling windows with an uninterrupted view of the NYC skyline.

Antique Loft Wedding in Hoboken | Laura and Matt | March 13, 2021
Laura and Matt got married at one of my favorite wedding venues in Hoboken – Antique Loft. Despite being a winter wedding, they got married on the gorgeous outdoor patio with clear views of the NYC skyline. To keep their guests warm, the venue brought out heaters and Laura and Matt provided blankets for their guests to cuddle up. I absolutely loved the boho inspired wedding decor (especially for their micro wedding reception!) and their first look (which included a walk with their dogs and photos on Court Street!). Laura even braved just a few photos sans jacket!

Gorgeous Church Ceremony Elopement | Liz and John | April 17, 2021
Toward the end of winter and into spring, we had a few gorgeous micro weddings and elopements. Liz and John got married in one of the stunning local Catholic churches and then we moved outside for those classic couple portraits. I love looking back on their gallery because it reminds me that wedding days don’t need to be complicated to be wonderful. Theirs was full of so much joy!
An Intimate Micro Wedding in New Jersey | Caitlin and Derek | April 18, 2021
If you love this winter micro wedding, make sure to keep scrolling for their larger backyard wedding celebration this summer! With the uncertainty of early 2021, Caitlin and Derek decided to postpone their larger wedding and invite only their closest family and friends to celebrate with them at Charlie’s of Bay Head. This micro wedding had no shortage of beautiful wedding details (from their church ceremony with a champagne toast outside to a restaurant reception at Charlie’s of Bay Head) and Caitlin and Derek were so full of love and excitement the entire day. Alan (my business partner meets wedding videographer at Murphy Studio joined me so make sure to check out the wedding video here!)

A Gorgeous 2021 Winter Wedding | Jessica and Carl | December 11, 2021
Literally just a few short weeks ago I celebrated Jessica and Carl and their gorgeous winter wedding! If you are planning a winter wedding in New Jersey, New York or beyond, I hope you love their use of a deeper color palette (black wedding party attire and pops of burgundy in the bouquets) to draw up some inspiration. Because it gets dark so much earlier here in the winter, we also made use of the gorgeous string lighting and Christmas decor around the venue for some more unique, yet incredible, wedding pics.
A New Year’s Eve Wedding in Hoboken | Ashley and Mike | December 31, 2021
As crazy as it feels, I keep checking my calendar and I only have one wedding left in 2021! I will be ringing in the new year with Ashley and Mike at their Antique Loft wedding on December 31, 2021, so make sure to stay tuned for more winter wedding inspiration!
Spring Weddings in New Jersey, New York & Beyond
A Unique New Jersey Yacht Wedding | Jamie and Dylan | April 30, 2021
Kicking off our spring weddings was one of the most unique wedding venues I had a chance to photograph this year: on a Yacht! I met Jamie and Dylan at Jersey City City Hall for their micro wedding ceremony/elopement and once the rings were exchanged and the papers were signed, we headed straight to the marina for a few ocean front photos and their micro wedding reception on the yacht!
A Colorful Micro Wedding in Jersey City | Michelle and Jeff | May 5, 2021
My favorite micro weddings are the ones that don’t feel “micro” in anything but the guest count. Michelle and Jeff hired the Love Wed Collective (a micro wedding company that I am so grateful to be the preferred wedding photographer for!) to plan their gorgeous and colorful wedding at Corgi Spirits in New Jersey. Their wedding day started at a gorgeous church, and after they were pronounced husband and wife, Michelle and Jeff headed to the courtyard with their closest family and friends to exchange personal vows to one another. I love how they truly made their ceremony unique and personal, without feeling the need to sacrifice any of the traditions they held dear in their heart. From there, the wedding reception was an absolutely incredible affair of custom calligraphy details, a jaw dropping outfit change, and so much more.

A Restaurant Wedding at Halifax Hoboken | Rachel and Jacob | May 20, 2021
As smaller guest lists were celebrated, more and more couples chose non-traditional wedding venues, like some of our fabulous restaurants here in New Jersey and New York. While many couples chose to have the ceremony elsewhere and just host a “restaurant reception”, Rachel and Jacob took advantage of the semi-private room at Halifax Hoboken for both the ceremony and reception. It was breathtakingly beautiful and so full of joy!

A European Style Spring Wedding | Ceci and Kevin | May 22, 2021
Ceci and Kevin’s wedding day looked like something out of a European movie – there is a certain casual elegance that can be hard to find here in New Jersey! Their first look took place in the beautiful courtyard outside the church. From there, we took advantage of the European style architecture for a majority of their wedding photos. During the ceremony, the lighting from the church was dark and very romantic. After the ceremony, they headed with their guests to enjoy a casual cocktail hour on one of their favorite patios. It truly was a gorgeous spring wedding day!

A Stunning Home Wedding in Montclair, NJ | Brittany and Sean | May 23, 2021
I always kind of smile referring to this as a home wedding because it was one of the most beautiful outdoor weddings I have ever shot! Brittany and Sean met at The Knot and truly held one of the most incredible micro wedding affairs I have ever witnessed. They took advantage of the abundance of nature in their backdrop, added some wildflower bouquets for fun pops of color, and let their love shine above everything else.

An Out-of-State Mansion Wedding in Connecticut | Giselle and Anthony | June 5, 2021
Giselle and Anthony’s gorgeous mansion wedding was worth driving to Connecticut for! With emotional back-to-back first looks (first with her dad and then with each other!), the day was filled with many, many happy tears. The mansion wedding venue was gorgeous and their outdoor ceremony location was breathtaking. During the reception, we snuck away for just a few minutes to capture golden hour photos of just the two of them in the courtyard and by the water. The lighting was pure magic.

A Restaurant Wedding Reception at The Hutton, NJ | Madeline and Will | June 5, 2021
Madeline and Will’s spring wedding started at Our Lady of Grace Roman Catholic Church in Hoboken, NJ and finished at one of my favorite restaurants for wedding receptions – The Hutton. This was another Love Wed Collective collaboration, and what I loved about this micro wedding (and working with Love Wed Collective in general!) is that truly no detail is overlooked: from the planning, to the florals, to the custom wedding calligraphy details. Madeline and Will chose a spring color palette that felt so fresh and inviting as things in New Jersey started to truly open up again! Even looking back, their wedding feels like a breath of fresh air to me!

A Gorgeous Atlantic City Wedding | Jenny and Jon | June 11, 2021
You might remember this beautiful couple from my 2020 roundup or this post all about their Pennsylvania elopement (they are kind of a favorite on the blog here!). You can FEEL their magnetic energy through the photos, can’t you? Jenny and Jon are truly two of the most incredible people I have ever met and I loved meeting them again in 2021 to capture their larger celebration! It was SO worth the wait. They used the extra time to customize their wedding decor so it truly looked and felt *just like them*. Beautiful.

A Surprise Wedding Announcement | Julie and Justin | June 12, 2021
I love a good surprise so when Julie and Justin told me they were planning to announce that they were expecting during their wedding reception, I was completely overjoyed! Julie and Justin officially tied the knot on New Year’s Eve last year but wanted to wait until it was safer to invite the rest of their family and friends to celebrate! This rooftop wedding in New Jersey was absolutely filled with energy and good vibes, and I loved some of the details Julie and Justin included (the ice cream bar was a huge hit!).

An Oregon Beach Wedding | Alexandrea and Dylan | June 14, 2021
When Alexandrea and Dylan invited me to their west coast celebration on one of the many incredible Oregon beaches, I jumped at the opportunity. Finishing off our roundup of incredible spring weddings, their garden wedding ceremony and beachfront elopement venue were both absolutely stunning. Although the guest list was kept small, with only immediate family in attendance, there was no shortage of love present for them on their wedding day. We even snuck away during the reception for those golden hour wedding photos on the beach and I have to say, west coast sunsets truly are worth the flight!

A Joyful Summer Wedding at Kingsland Manor | Lyz and Jay | June 25, 2021
Kicking off our summer wedding inspiration for 2022 or 2023, we have Lyz and Jay’s gorgeous micro wedding. This micro wedding was truly so full of joy and I loved photographing their intimate outdoor wedding ceremony at Kingsland Manor, their champagne pop, and their restaurant reception at GupShup (they brought in decor and truly made the space their own!). Over the past few years, classic color palettes featuring an abundance of white flowers and greenery have taken the spotlight but I can’t help but smile when couples truly embrace and celebrate with color!

A Courtyard Summer Wedding in New Jersey | Julia and Eric | June 25, 2021
Julia and Eric took advantage of their beautiful apartment courtyard for the wedding venue. It had such a warm yet casual European feel which was perfect for a summer wedding day. If you are looking for 2022 or 2023 wedding inspiration and are leaning toward something close to home, this micro wedding ceremony should provide plenty! Pantone recently announced their “Color of the Year” for 2022 to be “Very Peri” and I like to believe Julia and Eric were a little bit ahead of their time incorporating lavender into as many places as possible. On top of that, Julia and Eric have such a unique and fun style too and it was exciting to take photos that really resembled who they are as a couple (something that we always love here at Mile Square Moments!).

If you are looking for 2022 or 2023 wedding inspiration and trying to find some of my more popular New Jersey wedding photo locations, Raychel and Dave’s summer wedding is right on time. We started with a first look in front of the fountain at Van Vorst Park, which is a favorite backdrop of mine. From there, we headed to the Van Vorst gazebo for a sweet and emotional ceremony. Finally, we finished at Porta – a gorgeous open air patio in Jersey City. Raychel and Dave were one of the sweetest couples to photograph and I was beyond grateful to capture their love story!

A Summer Wedding at Crossed Keys Estate | Natalie and Ben | July 2, 2021
Kicking off 4th of July weekend was Natalie and Ben’s outstanding Crossed Keys Estate wedding. Alan from Murphy Studio joined me as their wedding videographer and we had so much fun capturing their incredible wedding together! If I had to try to sum up this summer wedding for 2022 or 2023 wedding inspiration, I would just say that Natalie and Ben proved that elegant can also be incredibly FUN. Their wedding was gorgeous, which a muted white and pearl color palette, but they had so many fun wedding day moments that livened up the entire day – from a champagne toast to a funfetti wedding cake.
I love Crossed Keys Estate as a wedding venue anyway and one of my favorite moments of the day was toward the end of the night when everyone enjoyed the summer weather outdoors and started cooking marshmallows. The day flew by but each moment was precious.

A Beautiful Ryland Inn Wedding Celebration | Ashley and John | July 3, 2021
Ashley and John are another couple you might recognize from my 2020 wedding roundup (which if you are looking for 2022 or 2023 wedding inspiration – is worth another look!). Both their 2020 micro wedding and larger 2021 wedding celebration took place at the Ryland Inn (and they hired Mile Square Moments and Murphy Studio to be their photo and video team for both!).
Ryland Inn (in case you are looking for a wedding venue!) is an absolutely stunning New Jersey wedding venue with an equestrian feel. Ashley and John are truly such an incredible couple and I could go on and on about everything I loved about their wedding day, but one of my favorite moments from their 4th of July weekend was when we took photos with red, white and blue smoke bombs to mark the occasion!

A 4th of July Wedding at Hudson House | Kristen and Chris | July 4, 2021
Hudson House is a relatively new New Jersey wedding venue, but with NYC skyline views like this, it’s no wonder why it’s risen in popularity so quickly. Kristen and Chris got married at a stunning Catholic church on the 4th of July and then took advantage of the gorgeous rooftop and outdoor space in front of the wedding venue for photos. For the reception, the floor to (incredibly tall) ceiling windows provided such a wow factor. Lighting like this is truly a photographer’s dream and it was the perfect way to end 4th of July weekend!
Alan from Murphy Studio joined me for this one as well (we basically spent the entire July long weekend together!) and I can’t wait to see the magic he creates from this gorgeous Hudson House wedding.

A Summer Wedding in New York | Chantel and Josh | July 22, 2021
If you have been looking for 2022 or 2023 wedding inspiration, this gorgeous New York wedding at The Bespoke Wedding Venue was one of my favorite outdoor weddings to date. Chantel owns her own wedding planning company so everything was both aesthetically beautiful and flawlessly executed. Let me tell you – this couple and their guests sure knew how to get the party started on the dance floor! Everyone was dancing under the moonlight all night long. For dance parties like this, I’m so glad they brought both myself and Alan to capture the photo and video of the day! Brittany and Eric’s wedding was a highlight for me because not only did I get to be their wedding photographer, I also got to attend parts as a guest (complete with dinner place settings for both my husband and me at the reception!). Matt and I also got married in PA and honestly, I always love to return. Both their soft color palette and the flowy intimate vibe of the day were absolutely lovely.

Porta was a popular wedding venue for 2021 micro weddings (as you’ve already seen!) but Kristy and Andrew took it one step further and had their wedding ceremony there as well (after a first look at Van Vorst Park, naturally). Their “Be Married” door sign is practically infamous but I just love how they truly livened up the space with their colorful and playful wedding decor. A Central Park Elopement in NYC | Emily and Mark | August 12, 2021
If you are considering elopeing in 2022 or 2023, Emily and Mark’s Central Park wedding was a “true” elopement with only myself, the officiant, and one witness in attendance. We found a secluded spot in Central Park NYC to exchange vows and then took their wedding portraits in a few meaningful locations to the couple. It was a perfect summer wedding day.

Stunning Summer Wedding at The Madison Hotel | Lisa and Grant | August 14, 2021
You may recognize Lisa and Grant from their delicious margarita photoshoot! Their wedding day finally arrived and we started with an emotional vow reading before their first look. Neither had a dry eye! After the first look, we headed to their breathtaking ceremony location at The Madison Hotel. They used their engagement photos as part of their guest book which, as a wedding photographer, made my heart just fill with joy. Let me say on behalf of all photographers – we want you to use and love your photos!
A Meaningful Wedding at the Mansion at Mountain Lakes | Sarah and Sal | August 20, 2021
I like to think I attract the kindest and most thoughtful couples and Sarah and Sal were certainly no exception. Sal’s father unfortunately passed away and Sarah was determined to make his presence known and felt throughout the day for Sal. She surprised him by tracking down his dad’s old Trans Am to take photos with. It was so sweet and so emotional and I have to give Sarah a lot of credit – it was a hot August wedding day and she drove around in that car with no air conditioning! Now, that’s true love.
Summer Backyard Wedding Celebration | Caitlin and Derek | August 21, 2021
Caitlin and Derek chose to get married earlier in 2021, but they still wanted to have a larger party when it was safer to do so. This summer, they threw a backyard wedding celebration and let me tell you, it was a CELEBRATION. Complete with a keg truck, their backyard filled with family and friends just wanted to celebrate their union with them and share in a little bit of their love story. I loved the casual vibe of this summer day!
A Traditional & Fun Wedding at Kolo Klub | Moira and Jason | August 28, 2021
Like I keep saying, my couples prove time and time again that no matter what your style is, no matter how traditional or untraditional, your wedding day can (and should!) be a lot of fun. Moira and Jason brought in a few of their favorite wedding traditions (which is always encouraged!), but what I loved the most was how filled with joy they were throughout the day.
Beautiful Burkestone Estate Wedding | Zoë and Sylvan | September 3, 2021
Zoë and Sylvan’s wedding day was absolutely stunning, complete with boho elements like a triangle ceremony arch and twinkle reception lighting. Burkestone Estate is an absolutely stunning wedding in upstate New York, and I have to admit, it was worth the travel. I still can’t get over how these two look at one another! Absolutely precious in both the posed photos and the candids.
A Gorgeous Summer Wedding at Born to Run Farm | Chelsea and Guy | September 5, 2021
Often what makes a wedding is the people, and these two had some of the brightest and most cheerful in attendance. Even a little rain couldn’t wash their smiles away. Their family and friends watched their outdoor wedding ceremony underneath umbrellas and attended the wedding reception under a clear wedding tent. There was nothing that could stop this summer wedding from being absolutely perfect.
A Stunning Rooftop Wedding | Allie and Chris | September 10, 2021
I know some people love the rural hidden gems we have across New Jersey and New York but when I look back on Allie and Chris’ summer wedding photos, I just have to admit I love the city. Their rooftop wedding ceremony and reception was perfect for their more intimate guest list and we had fun taking their wedding photos around the city.
Fall Weddings in New Jersey, New York & Beyond
Fall Wedding at Tailwater Lodge | Alex and Vinnie | September 17, 2021
If you are looking for a rustic wedding venue for fall, the Tailwater Lodge was absolutely stunning for Alex and Vinnie’s September wedding. Alex and Vinnie were so much fun to photograph as well – these two know how to dip and kiss!
A Fall Wedding at Antique Loft Hoboken | Samantha and Anthony | September 18, 2021

A Completely Hoboken Wedding | Bernadette and Greg | September 24, 2021
Although I travel across New Jersey and New York frequently, I’m proudly based in Hoboken and I truly love when I don’t have to leave my Mile Square City. Bernadette and Greg got married at the gorgeous St Ann Church and held their reception at Antique Loft so it’s safe to say, they used the best of the best that this city has to offer.
A September Wedding in New Jersey | Chrissy and CJ | September 26, 2021
Now the sneak peeks are rolling in! For the next few weddings, the entire galleries have not been delivered yet but I wanted to include them here for inspiration because they are just as stunning. A Unique Fall Wedding | Ali and Spencer | October 2, 2021
Kicking off October weddings, Ali and Spencer designed their wedding day to be uniquely them. Their wedding took place at a brewery in Brooklyn with their nearest and dearest (after sneaking a few rooftop photos with sweeping views on the NYC skyline, naturally). I love when couples make their wedding day look and feel like them and this unique fall wedding was definitely a fave.
A Sweet Wedding at The Loft at 350 | Camille and Steve | October 9, 2021
Camille and Steve got married at The Loft at 350, which was a stunning indoor wedding venue perfect for those chillier fall wedding days. We snuck outside for photos to take advantage of the gorgeous greenery surrounding the property. The setting around is so romantic and Camille and Steve were such gems to photograph around the property. Then, when we were inside, the party could begin!
A Rainy Fall Wedding Day | Lauren and Rudy | October 10, 2021

A Vintage Wedding Ceremony | Mai and Troy | October 10, 2021
Mai and Troy embraced their love of vintage and brought it into several different parts of their wedding day. When making your wedding day your own, don’t feel the need to overcomplicate anything! Mai and Troy’s wedding day was simple and sweet, while still being a true reflection of them as a couple.
A New Jersey Beach Wedding | Krista and Rob | October 16, 2021
We explored a few different wedding locations on Krista and Rob’s wedding day. Their ceremony was held at a church, their wedding portraits were taken on the beach, and their reception was a backyard wedding celebration with string lighting and dinner served on the patio.
A Colorful Fall Wedding | Nephthalie & Tamir | October 22, 2021

A Stunning Fall Wedding at Crossed Keys Estate | Jeanine & Dillon | November 6, 2021

Their wedding was a chance to be completely present and focus just on their love for one another, and I was so grateful to be able to document it for them!
A Winery Wedding in the Fall | Alycia and Jonathan | November 12, 2021
Who doesn’t love a nice glass of wine at the end of the day? I always say, you might be a Mile Square Moments couple if you enjoy a night in drinking wine and bingeing Netflix as much as you enjoy a night on the town. Alycia and Jonathan’s fall wedding took place at a gorgeous winery and they made their favorite beverage front and center on their wedding day.
A New Jersey Beach Wedding | Jaime and Howie | November 12, 2021
We don’t often think about our tri-state area for “beach weddings” but Jaime and Howie proved that doesn’t have to be the case – even in November! Below are just a few of their fall wedding photos. I love the colorful trees in the background…and in her bouquet!
A Stunning Fall Wedding | Anne and Rob | November 13, 2021
