I’ve been waiting for Jenny and Jon’s encore since their Pennsylvania elopement. Do you remember these two from their sweet Pennsylvania elopement? These two always have me traveling. For their larger celebration this year, I made the trek down to Atlantic City and it was WORTH it. I didn’t have any doubt, of course. Not only was their wedding gorgeous (the extra year to plan did not go to waste) but the love these two have for one another is incredible. It felt so special to be able to witness them saying their vows again, this time in front of their family and friends.

Their Pennsylvania Elopement
Seriously, if you haven’t checked out the elopement post yet, make sure to click the button below because Jenny and Jon were an absolute favorite from 2020. They eloped under Quaker’s Law, which means, in Pennsylvania at least, they didn’t need an officiant to get married. It was literally just them (with me in the background taking photos!). Not only was it incredibly intimate and sweet, they also just had so much fun together. It was so special to watch and I knew right then I couldn’t wait for their Atlantic City wedding.
Getting Ready Photos at Hard Rock Hotel Atlantic City
I always love to take getting ready photos in a fancy hotel suite. Safe to say, the Hard Rock Hotel did not disappoint. Jenny’s getting ready suite was so spacious so there was a ton of room for her side of the wedding party to take turns getting ready (and enjoy a couple of White Claws!). It was also big enough for Jenny to have a private moment with her mother as she put on her dress, and then come out to have a fun bridal reveal with the rest of the wedding party. There were so many unique places in the hotel but some of my favorite photos were actually in the lobby after the getting ready photos were done! Everyone was READY for the next part!
First Look on Atlantic City Boardwalk
After the getting ready photos, we headed to the Atlantic City Boardwalk. Jenny and Jon exchanged their first look, and it felt like the first time. It was honestly the perfect location. With grand architecture on one side and beach views on the other, you truly felt you got a little bit of everything.
I also had a chance to capture a few solo shots of the bride and groom. This is something that I always LOVE to do when the couple has a little extra time for photos! Your wedding gallery will be filled with all the photos you are dreaming of – from the key moments like your first kiss to more candids of you crying than you expect – but it’s always nice to have just a few photos of just you (looking your absolute best, of course). These are the wedding photos you might not think about but will appreciate later.
Large Wedding Party Photos
A word to the wise — if you have a large wedding party, make sure your photographer is ready! Large wedding groups can be tough. Let’s be honest, everyone is having too much fun to smile at the camera, which is typically encouraged. Despite that, large wedding parties are some of my favorites to shoot. Don’t worry, I won’t hesitate to take control when needed. But I also believe that when it comes to your wedding day, your photos are only as good as the fun you had taking them! I promise to both wrangle your large wedding party but keep it light and fun.
One Atlantic Ceremony
One Atlantic was an absolutely incredibly wedding ceremony location, with an absolutely breathtaking view of the ocean through floor-to-ceiling windows. Jenny and Jon chose to keep the color palette classic (with blush, white and greenery) but threw in some fun touches like oversized tropical leaves so that the decor felt as fun as they are. During their wedding ceremony, they read from the same vow books they had in Pennsylvania. It was such a special moment to share with all their family and friends. They had a close friend officiate for them which made it even more incredible. Love definitely filled the room.
Cocktail Hour
For cocktail hour, the pair served up signature cocktails inspired by what they actually enjoy drinking on the weekends! As someone who loves authenticity and real connection, I love when couples bring in elements of what their love story actually looks like. Jenny and Jon are the kind of couple that works hard during the week but on the weekends they enjoy their time together as a couple, unwinding and spending time with the ones they care about.
One Atlantic Wedding Reception
As you scroll through the photos below, you’ll see that Jenny and Jon truly put their own spin on everything. Their wedding style was uniquely them and they didn’t hold back. They had so many classic touches (like ripped paper escort cards and white chiavari chairs) paired with fun modern touches (like bold black table numbers and macarons instead of a wedding cake). True to Jenny and Jon’s relationship, their reception was just as fun as it was beautiful.
Surprise Serenade
A week before the wedding, Jon reached out with a surprise for Jenny! He put on a shiny shirt and wig and lip-synced to “I believe in a thing called love” by The Darkness. It was A RIOT. Everyone was absolutely howling with laughter and grinning from ear to ear. After his surprise serenade, the dance floor was packed and stayed packed until the night was over!
Congratulations to the New Jersey Newlyweds
This is my second time photographing a Jenny and Jon celebration. I’m not even close to ready to be done with them yet! As a wedding photographer, it’s so important that I truly to get know my couples. I love to connect before their wedding day so that I’m better able to capture the chemistry that naturally exists!
