With Taylor Swift’s newest album making headlines, it seemed only fitting to share the lavender details of Cassie and Ryan’s elegant wedding at Crystal Springs Country Club. While most of the wedding decor was kept classic (with hues of champagne and soft pink), their lavender florals were stunning during this summer wedding. Plus, lavender haze certainly describes the GLOW these two have being madly in love. Seriously. These two are a perfect example of “when you know, you know”. Although they knew each other through a family friend before, they weren’t together long before they got engaged (their first date was October and they were engaged by May 2021!). By the time their July 2022 wedding came, these two were even more madly in love and I was in awe of them and all of the gorgeous lavender wedding day details!
Just Engaged!
Am I the only one who finds everyday moments just as romantic as the overly planned ones? I loved hearing how Ryan proposed to Cassie because it was simple, yet incredibly sweet. Cassie had a long and busy day at work and the two of them were supposed to go out for dinner with their best friends. She got home and was about to start getting ready when Ryan asked her to check out this bottle of wine he bought. He turned the bottle over to show off a label that read “will you marry me?” It was a big yes to him (and the wine of course)!
Getting Ready at Grand Cascades Lodge
Grand Cascades Lodge (and Crystal Springs Country Club) are absolutely incredible wedding locations. I met Cassie and Ryan in their separate rooms while they were getting ready and there was just so much love in the air. Both Cassie and Ryan are just so fun-loving and, after having so much fun with them during their engagement photos, it was nice to see them in their element with their closest family and friends. The two of them also exchanged cards to read the morning of the wedding, which is one of my personal favorite wedding traditions!
Speaking of breathtaking locations, Cassie had a first look with her father (and Ryan – so keep scrolling!), at the Koi Pond. I’ve seen a lot of incredible backdrops for wedding photos but this has to be a favorite!
A First Look at The Quarry at Grand Cascades
After a first look with her father, we set Ryan up near the Quarry for their own first look. The two of them were so much fun to photograph. Cassie warned me that Ryan might take a minute to warm up as he can be shy at first but honestly? He lit up the second he saw Cassie! One of the things Ryan told me he loved about Cassie was her empathy (she cries over everything) and honestly there were happy tears everywhere!
After their first look (and about 45 minutes of couple portraits – that felt like 5 minutes!), we met their wedding party for more outdoor wedding photos. I love when couples plan to have their wedding photos (with their family and wedding party) done before the wedding ceremony! Not only is it a chance to just have fun together before you walk down the aisle, once the ceremony time does arrive you can remain present and just enjoy every moment without thinking about what comes next.
Opulent Indoor Wedding Ceremony
You would have NEVER known that this was the backup location for their wedding ceremony. Although Cassie and Ryan were supposed to exchange vows in the gardens, this gorgeous indoor location with tall ceilings and white chandeliers felt perfect. With white florals lining the aisle and delicate linen draping their ceremony arch (with asymmetrical clusters of florals), the ceremony backdrop was truly flawless. Cassie and Ryan’s wedding ceremony was short and sweet, and the two of them exchanged their own written vows in front of their family and friends.
Just Married!
Kicking off cocktail hour were two signature cocktails inspired by their cats (the Rooney was a classic margarita and the Ziggy was a transfusion with vodka, ginger ale and grape juice). Cassie and Ryan mingled with their guests before sneaking off to a “silent cake cutting” just before the reception. For those who have never heard of such a thing, a silent cake cutting is one of the newest wedding reception trends. It’s perfect for couples who want to skip cake cutting (without skipping the cake!). Instead of taking time from your wedding reception, you cut your wedding cake in a private moment between the two of you before the reception starts.
A Grand Wedding Reception in the Emerald Ballroom
I love how intentional couples are being with their wedding planning lately. There were so many details that made this gorgeous wedding at Crystal Springs Country Club uniquely theirs, but one of the things I personally loved was that in lieu of favors Cassie and Ryan donated to a cause that was important to the two of them. Absolutely speaks to the kind-hearted nature of the two of them. Their wedding reception was such a blast, too. One of the things that Cassie and Ryan were looking forward to the most was an evening celebrating and dancing with all of their favorite people together in the same room and that definitely came true for the two of them!
A Stunning Summer Wedding at Crystal Springs Resort
Cassie and Ryan’s summer wedding truly had everything: A gorgeous wedding color palette, beautiful wedding decor, and best of all, a wedding couple madly in love. I couldn’t get enough of the two of them (and truly – that’s what I love about what I do – connecting with couples to capture the chemistry that already exists). I’m thrilled that these two have decided to spend the rest of their lives together, and beyond honored they trusted me to capture one of their favorite days.
I will leave you with a few film wedding photos before I share the vendor list that made this incredible wedding possible! For more elegant wedding decor ideas, make sure to also check out this Madison Hotel wedding!
