I can’t wait to share Raychel and Dave’s stunning New Jersey engagement photos (and engagement photo outfits!) from last month. We had a chance to hit up some of my favorite photo locations in both Jersey City and Hoboken, and overall just had so much fun together. They really trusted me to guide them through a few of my favorite poses and prompts and just enjoy each other’s company during the session. If anyone told you engagement photos were supposed to be boring – DO NOT LISTEN. I know sometimes couples may have hesitations (I’ve heard “they are a little camera shy” on more than one occasion) but I promise you, once we get started you’ll come around and have more fun than you thought! This is definitely not my first time!

In case we haven’t met yet, I’m Devin (the woman behind the camera here at Mile Square Moments). I live for telling love stories through photos and if you are looking for a photographer to capture the authentic connection between you and yours, I’m here for you! Changing Engagement Photo Outfits
Raychel and Dave were the first to try out my new changing pop up pod! Most of my couples want at least one outfit change during their engagement photos. Typically, they may want fancier engagement photo outfits to have framed, or to use for their save the dates! However, most couples also want a more casual outfit (usually for their social media profiles). Before COVID, it used to be fairly easy to pop into a restaurant for a quick outfit change. Now, not so much! Now instead, I bring my pop up pod so I can accommodate outfit changes on the go and at some of my favorite outdoor locations around New Jersey and New York City!

Engagement Photo Locations in Jersey City and Hoboken
For Raychel and Dave, we started in Hoboken and took engagement photos on charming Court Street (you will definitely recognize the cobblestone streets and stunning brick if you are a regular blog reader!). After Court Street, we traveled to Liberty State Park for some incredible outdoor engagement photos. As a New Jersey engagement photographer, I always love when couples take my advice when choosing their photo locations. I loved the mix between city streets and complete open space for Raychel and Dave’s photo shoot. It was well worth the travel time between Court Street and Liberty State Park!
Planning Your Engagement Photos
I book my engagement photo shoots for a little longer than your average photographer. This is partly so you warm up enough to enjoy the shoot (it can take a few minutes) so I can capture the authentic chemistry that naturally comes out when you are hanging out with the one you love! The other part is, so we have a chance to try out a few different locations, accommodate a couple different outfit changes, and try a few poses! You may recognize a few of these prompts from my posing guide, but don’t worry about showing up prepared to your engagement photos. I will guide you. Let’s do what feels natural!
New Jersey Engagement Photos & Wedding Photographer
I hope you have loved these engagement photos as much as I enjoyed taking them! Make sure you stay tuned, because this lovely couple is tying the knot THIS WEEKEND and their wedding is going to be absolutely incredible. The wedding planner, Veronica Joy Events, was actually who I hired for my own wedding. So when I tell you she is one of the best, I really mean it 😉.
