They say “when you know, you know” and that was certainly the case for Bernadette and Greg! These two reached out to me to be their Hoboken wedding photographer before they were even technically engaged! They had a timeline in mind for their wedding date, and being more traditional Greg wanted to give Bernadette the incredible proposal she deserved. However, when they had a delay with the ring, they weren’t willing to wait to set the wedding plans in motion so they started booking their venue and vendors a little bit before the official proposal. Personally, I love a good story and from the moment I connected with Bernadette and Greg, I couldn’t help but swoon a little over how in love the two of them are. Their fall wedding in Hoboken was a fave!
From their St Ann Church ceremony to their Antique Loft reception overlooking the NYC skyline, their fall wedding in Hoboken was absolutely incredible – and I can’t wait to share *just a few* of my favorite Hoboken wedding photos with you today!
Hoboken Engagement Photos
First comes love, then comes engagement photos! The second Bernadette had a ring on her finger, I couldn’t wait to get their engagement photos done so she could start showing off the shiny new addition to her finger. We explored a few of my favorite spots around Hoboken, and had a LOT of fun with it! I don’t know if it’s just because these two have a ton of chemistry together, but they were naturals in front of the camera! They really let themselves have fun with it, and the result? In every photo, you can see how much they love each other.
During their engagement photoshoot, we also stopped by the spot where Greg proposed! I love adding as many personal touches into engagement photos as possible. For them, this little bench below is a special spot. Not only was it where he proposed, but they sit here together often after walks together. I’m so glad we included it in their engagement photos!
Getting Ready with Family
As someone who has fallen in love with micro weddings, I have to remind you: Bigger is not always better! Both Bernadette and Greg kept their “getting ready crew” fairly small, and I honestly believe it helps you stay present and soak it all in just a little bit more. After they were ready, we took just a few family portraits before the wedding ceremony since Bernadette and Greg wanted to keep things a little more traditional with an “aisle reveal” and not see each other before the ceremony! I have to say, a special shoutout goes to Bernadette’s nieces who were the absolute cutest things to photograph the entire morning!
Wedding at St Ann Church
We have many incredible churches and wedding ceremony venues around Hoboken, but as a photographer, I have to say that St Ann never disappoints. The architecture, the lighting, the grandeur – all stunning. Bernadette and Greg saw each other “occasionally” through church events, so incorporating that part of their relationship (and their faith!) into their wedding day was incredibly important. Throughout the ceremony, they couldn’t keep their eyes off of each other. They were absolutely glowing as they exchanged rings, vows and more than one first kiss!
Wedding Photos Around Hoboken
After the wedding ceremony, the couple had a “grand exit” outside of the church that was filled with joy! It was the perfect way to kick off their (more formal) wedding photos! After their guests cheered and celebrated their union, we took photos outside of the church and at a few of my favorite wedding photo spots around Hoboken: Pier A Park and Columbus Park! They enjoyed soaking up all of that “just married” bliss and I enjoyed snapping photos of every second of it!
Starlit Wedding Reception at Antique Loft
I love a wedding venue with a view and like everything else on Bernadette and Greg’s wedding day, the reception did not disappoint. Bernadette and Greg held their cocktail hour on the terrace, and their wedding reception indoors (with a flawless view of the NYC skyline). From their first dance, sentimental toasts, and a sweet cake cutting, Bernadette and Greg were inseparable all evening.
One of the things Bernadette mentioned she loves most about Greg, was how affectionate he is. She says, “He always knows what I need even when I don’t,” and this was certainly evident here! In much the same way, one of the things Greg mentioned he loves the most about her is how caring she is, and how he knows that she is always there for him. Together, celebrating with all their family and friends, you could feel this natural energy between them. You definitely felt as though you were in the presence of true love all evening, and it was such an incredible and special night to be a part of.
A Fall Wedding in Hoboken
Bernadette and Greg planned their fall wedding in Hoboken in just four months, so if you have your eyes on a shorter wedding timeline, this is proof that it can be done! More than that, Bernadette and Greg came to me from another wedding couple, and I just have to finish by letting you all know how much I appreciate your referrals and trust in capturing your wedding day. I do not take it for granted for one second, and it’s crazy to think how many love stories I have had a chance to play a small part in over the last five years in Hoboken. Thank you!
