Grand Vin is my absolute favorite Hoboken wine bar, so when Meagan and Matt invited me to document their wedding day there, I couldn’t have been more thrilled. Wine plays an important part in their love story: Their first date was at Cork City (where they realized they were actually neighbors!) and when Matt proposed (and Meagan said yes), he actually surprised her with a weekend trip to Martha’s vineyard right after. Talk about dreamy! Their wedding at Grand Vin was flawless, and it was the perfect Hoboken venue for them to celebrate their love story so far. I can’t wait to feature them here on the blog today!
Kind Review From This Wedding at Grand Vin
Meagan and Matt are such beautiful people inside and out, and I can’t share their wedding at Grand Vin without gushing over this review first. Each couple I work with becomes a friend during the process, and as a past bride myself, I can’t help but feel so grateful I get to serve other couples on their wedding day (and throughout the planning process), too!
I don’t even know where to start when it comes to how amazing Devin was to work with for my wedding. At the very beginning, she helped us plan our entire wedding timeline, using her expertise in weddings to give us recommendations, but always putting our wants / vision first. I was a very indecisive bride, and Devin helped to keep me organized and I never felt any pressure to do things a certain way. (She also recommended a local florist and makeup artist that were both amazing – both small woman-owned businesses).
On the wedding day is when I truly knew how lucky we were to have Devin. Her energy is so calm and positive and she made the day brighter as soon as she showed up. She helped keep the day flowing without ever putting any pressure on us. She captured our photos in exactly the way we wanted her to – natural and in the moment. Devin got every shot that we discussed at previous meetings. She provided the perfect amount of direction during our portraits, captured beautiful photos of the ceremony, and amazing detail shots of the venue. She was an excellent planner, clear communicator, and great person to work with. I would HIGHLY recommend Devin for your photography needs!
Getting Ready At Their Apartment
The day began with an atmosphere of pure joy. I arrived at Meagan & Matt’s apartment where Meagan and her friends were preparing for the day’s events. After she was all dressed up with her friends, we had a “bridal reveal” and toasted with champagne to commemorate the special occasion. It was an incredibly enjoyable morning! From there, I headed to Columbus Park to set up Matt for their first look!
Wedding Portraits + A First Look at Columbus Park
I ensured Matt was ready for their first look before Meagan’s arrival. Once she appeared, I positioned them both so they were ready. Following their heartwarming first look, they privately exchanged vows, which was one of my favorite moments of the day. From there, we captured their wedding portraits, and towards the end, Marlo, their adorable dog, made a special guest appearance.
Wedding Ceremony at St. Ann
As a Hoboken wedding photographer, I’ve had the pleasure of capturing numerous wedding ceremonies at St. Ann, and every time has been nothing short of amazing. Meagan and Matt’s ceremony exuded a sweet and comfortable atmosphere, much like their own personalities. These two could not be more perfect for each other. From enjoying leisurely walks with their beloved dog Marlo around the city, to indulging in guilty pleasure reality TV shows, the genuine love and joy they have for each other is evident. During their ceremony I couldn’t help but feel like the best is yet to come!
After the ceremony, we walked over to Grand Vin together and I captured a few more photos of Meagan and Matt in their “just married” bliss. It was perfect!
Gorgeous Wedding at Grand Vin
Meagan and Matt’s wedding reception was absolutely stunning. The venue had a very romantic atmosphere, which perfectly complemented the personalized and playful decor that adorned the space. The choice of a gorgeous terracotta and pink color palette added a touch of elegance to this unforgettable wedding celebration. The charming addition of signature cocktail signs and cocktail napkins featuring their beloved dog Marlo was one of my favorite personalized details, but there were many more. All of the signage were designed by Matt himself, so everything was a perfect reflection of the two of them. Each guest found their place through beautifully crafted cutouts of their names that served as place cards. Their main goal was to create a one-of-a-kind experience that reflected their unique personalities, and they succeeded.
A Beautiful Hoboken Love Story
Meagan and Matt were positively glowing on their big day. Every smile, hug, and laugh was not only a reflection of the love they had for each other, but also of the love they shared with all who attended. They embraced every second of it. I couldn’t have been more honored to document everything for them to relive again and again for the rest of their lived.
