Rachel and Jacob’s intimate Halifax Hoboken wedding goes down as an absolute favorite. I have really grown to love micro weddings over the past year and a half, and their wedding was so full of joy and so special to witness. I couldn’t wait to share their photos on the blog with all of you today! If you are planning a micro wedding in Hoboken, Halifax restaurant at the W Hotel absolutely knocked it out of the park. I also felt inspired by Rachel and Jacob’s choice of colorful florals that gave the entire day a more whimsical touch. Even though they kept their guest list small, there was no shortage of details.
Mile Square Moments Review
Before I forget, let me just have a moment to gush over this sweet review. Nothing warms my heart and fills my cup more than when couples value their wedding photography as much as I do. It means so much to me when couples trust my process, which includes me getting to know you before your wedding day! This way, it’s easier for me to capture the chemistry that already exists between the two of you. Rachel and Jacob were so sweet and so kind and I am forever grateful for the thoughtful photography review!
Devin was such a joy to work with from beginning to end. We decided to have an intimate wedding and knew that the pictures capturing our day would be the most important factor, and we are so thrilled with how everything turned out! We had a couple of meetings with Devin before the big day to get to know one another and sort all the small details which was super helpful for everyone. She arrived early and was like a ninja when it came to getting shots! Very quick and efficient and made us feel so comfortable at all times. I can’t express enough how much I would recommend Mile Square Moments for any occasion. The pictures came out perfect — we can’t stop looking at them! Thank you, Devin!
Halifax Hoboken Wedding Ceremony
Rachel and Jacob didn’t really have a first date. They became good friends first and at some point they just decided that they were better together! Their ceremony reflected how close they both were and it was really sweet. I love how they broke some traditions (both of them chose to have both sets of parents walk them down the aisle) but they kept some traditions that were important to them (like lighting a unity candle during the ceremony and stepping on glass at the end of the ceremony). They also had a sweet altar set up to honor their grandparents. Plus, instead of the traditional ceremony set up, Rachel and Jacob stood together on the same side with the officiant on the other side. You could tell family was really important to both of them which is one of the many things that make them such an incredible partnership.
Wedding Couple Portraits Around Hoboken
After a short (and very sweet!) ceremony, we snuck off to a few of my favorite wedding photo locations around Hoboken. As a wedding photographer, taking those traditional wedding couple portraits are often some of my favorite moments of the day. It is so important that you and your spouse-to-be have some time alone and for some busy wedding timelines, these portraits are the only chance you get. Rachel and Jacob took advantage of this alone time to read each other personal and heartfelt vows, just between the two of them. They really wanted to exchange their vows without any one else around, so they could say exactly what was on their hearts and stay present in the moment. It was the absolute sweetest moment.
During wedding couple portraits, I love to walk my couples through a few prompts and poses, guiding them when necessary but more than anything I just want you both to ENJOY this time together. I never want to force you through stuffy moments and get super involved. As your wedding photographer, I want to capture the chemistry that naturally exists between the two of you (and make sure you look great!).
A Restaurant Wedding Reception at Halifax in Hoboken
When I asked Rachel and Jacob what they were MOST looking forward to on their wedding day, they said they couldn’t wait for the food! And what better restaurant wedding location than Halifax Hoboken? Or maybe I’m just biased because I’ve lived here for so long. Let me tell you this, the food did not disappoint! The entire wedding reception was sectioned off from the rest of the restaurant and it was an absolutely beautiful setting. I always love when couples bring a part of themselves into their wedding plans. Rachel and Jacob love to just relax and enjoy new places locally and it was nice to share a little bit of that connection over local eats with their family.
Truly Joyful New Jersey Micro Wedding
As you can probably tell, I loved every minute of Rachel and Jacob’s New Jersey micro wedding. They were so wonderful and so relaxed. I loved how they just let themselves have fun and be completely present with their guests. Rachel and Jacob did a wonderful job bringing everyone together and having a great time. And their family was just as sweet as they are! I absolutely loved connecting with them both – I see many Moscow Mules and Mojitos in their future! Congratulations to Hoboken’s newest newlyweds!
