Two years ago, when Ana came home from work, Justin was waiting on one knee with roses, chocolates, and a gorgeous engagement ring. She said yes, and two years later, I was beyond honored to capture their intimate wedding ceremony in Hoboken (featuring one of my favorite views!). These two love to have fun together, and their connection was so inspiring throughout their wedding day.
I can’t wait to share some of my favorite moments from their intimate wedding today, but before I dive in, I have to share their sweet “how they met” story. Ana is originally from Puerto Rico, and still has a lot of family there today (so much so that they originally considered having their wedding on the island!). In 2018, Justin visited the island to help with the Hurricane Maria clean up and Ana was visiting her family during the aftermath of the storm. They ended up matching on a dating app, and moved in together (in Tennessee in 2019). In 2020, they made New Jersey home and when Ana’s immediate family and best friend came to visit this summer, they used it as an opportunity to finally get married with their family and friends! I’m so thrilled they did!
A Gorgeous Evening Wedding Ceremony in Hoboken
Ana and Justin wanted their wedding ceremony to feel intimate, so they chose to host their ceremony later in the evening. At 7pm, with the light fading from the sky and the cool summer breeze, they said their vows surrounded by their closest friends and family. It was such a beautiful moment. The love between Ana and Justin was so evident during the ceremony. Their laughter filled the air and could be heard throughout the terrace. But it wasn’t just their joy that was tangible, it was also their love for each other. Every look they shared was full of pure adoration.
Wedding Day Portraits
Ana and Justin embraced the moment of being newlyweds, taking in every second. They toasted with champagne right after they walked back down the aisle. I worked around them to capture all of the small nuances that made this moment unique and special. We also moved around the terrace to get shots from different angles and to make sure nothing was left out. As sunset approached, I took some of my favorite shots with stunning views of the NYC cityscape behind them. Once we were done capturing their couple portraits, their family joined in for those precious family photos!
A Beautiful Evening Wedding Reception in Hoboken
Ana and Justin’s wedding reception was a true delight. The floor-to-ceiling windows allowed natural light to stream in, and the dusty rose and navy colors gave the atmosphere a warm, romantic feel. The wedding celebration continued on into the night, and soon enough it was time for their first dance as husband and wife! The energy in the room was electric as everyone watched them sway across the dance floor. Ana and Justin danced the night away surrounded by their closest family and friends, making for a truly special moment. The food was delicious and the music was upbeat. Everyone had a wonderful time! As a photographer, it was amazing to be part of such an unforgettable experience.
