Elizabeth and Jay got married this past June at Kingsland Manor and I have been waiting patiently to share their gorgeous wedding here on the blog! It was incredibly intimate, with only their very closest family and friends, but the entire day was so full of joy. These two were absolutely ready to start the next chapter of their lives and it was incredible to witness (and document!). If you ever need proof that bigger isn’t always better, this gorgeous wedding is it (actually, you can find all the micro wedding inspiration your heart could ever desire here).
As you can tell, I’m a big fan of intimate weddings that are filled to the brim with that wild and crazy love. If you are looking for a New Jersey wedding photographer as passionate about your authentic connection as you are, you’ve found your photographer! Getting Ready at Home
Elizabeth and Jay chose to get ready separately, with her getting ready at their home, and Jay getting ready at Elizabeth’s brothers home. With such a small group, everyone really felt so closely connected. Personally, I loved a chance to photograph all of the details – including the INCREDIBLE jewelry that Elizabeth wore. She looked absolutely stunning, adorned not only in jewels but also some absolutely gorgeous Henna art from Jay’s mother and sister. After that, I quickly headed over to where Jay was getting ready to snap some photos of the boys! Everyone was all smiles waiting for the wedding day to begin.
First Look Wedding Photos at Kingsland Manor
After their getting ready photos, we met in the gardens of their beautiful wedding venue – Kingsland Manor in Nutley, New Jersey. We really couldn’t have dreamed up a more beautiful location, and the look on their faces when they first saw each other was absolutely priceless. The two of them shared an intimate moment in pure bliss and then we took some more photos around the venue. Kingsland Manor is a historical Dutch colonial home and there was certainly no shortage of incredible photo locations. If you are looking for an outdoor wedding venue, this one is definitely worth a look!
Weddings at Kingsland Manor
If you are looking for real wedding photos at Kingsland Manor, Elizabeth and Jay’s wedding ceremony was absolutely stunning. The ceremony arch was covered in colorful florals and the view was incredible. I love how Elizabeth and Jay really included each and every one of their family members into their wedding day. The saxophone duet, for example, is actually the bride’s father and brother! Make sure to check out the vendor credits below because they were phenomenal. After they exchanged vows and said “I do”, they celebrated right on the Kingsland Manor lawn, with cake and a champagne pop (always so fun to photograph!).
GupShup Wedding Reception
It’s no secret that I love a restaurant wedding reception – especially for smaller guest lists. GupShup was absolutely GORGEOUS and while they were setting up their table (with some stunning decor the couple brought!), we took photos on the NYC streets outside. The colors and energy surrounding us were pure magic. Even better than what was surrounding us was the absolute love that Elizabeth and Jay have for one another. It was evident in every stolen glance and reminded me why I love this job so much!
Weddings at Kingsland Manor (+ beyond!)
Part of the reason I absolutely love blogging about my incredible couples is that I get a chance to relive the day and remember the absolute love that was felt. As a wedding photographer, I know that wedding planning – especially during COVID – can be full of ups and downs but at the end of the day, love always wins. At the end of the day, marrying your person is ALL that matters. I love witnessing true love as a career.
I take great care in making sure I connect with each and every couple personally, not only because I love to connect with people (although that’s definitely true!), but also because I believe it is SO important to capture the natural chemistry that already exists. If you don’t want your wedding day to be filled with manufactured moments and instead want a photographer to just *be there* and allow you to be completely present and in love, I would love to hear from you.
