Do you recognize Nephthalie and Tamir from their dreamy engagement photoshoot that was featured on the blog last spring? Their smiles were equally as contagious on their wedding day. Nephthalie and Tamir had their first date over ten years ago (and met 15 years ago!), and it was so wonderful to see so much love and the genuine friendship between them. Although both of them identify as introverts (and love a night in bingeing Netflix as much as I do!), they both bring out this sweet, playful nature in each other and it’s precious to witness. As far as micro weddings go, I always love a restaurant reception for the intimate atmosphere, and this Ninety Acres wedding was a perfect example of what a micro wedding in New Jersey can really look like. Simply stunning.
Getting Ready at AC Hotel Before Their Afternoon Wedding
With all weddings, we have to be mindful of the time of year and sunset when planning the day of timeline. With a micro wedding, one of the things I love is that the timeline can often be a little more flexible because there are fewer people to coordinate with (and therefore, less buffer time is required!). I met both Naphthalie and Tamir in their respective suites at the AC Hotel Mariott Bridgewater in the afternoon on their wedding day, with plenty of time to photograph the incredible details as they prepared for their day (the custom vow books were my favorite!).
Ninety Acres Outdoor Wedding Ceremony at the Mansion at Natirar
Each wedding ceremony is so special, and this outdoor wedding ceremony at Ninety Acres was no exception. As I mentioned before, Nephthalie and Tamir have been together for a while. The two of them have such incredible energy between them. So lighthearted and just full of laughter. Because they didn’t have a first look, they both agreed that what they were most looking forward to on their wedding day was seeing each other across the aisle. Tamir couldn’t wait to see Nephthalie in her dress (and as you’ll see below, she was gorgeous!). Nephthalie couldn’t wait to see Tamir’s face as he walked down the aisle.
Outdoor Wedding Photos
After the wedding ceremony, we spent some time taking wedding portraits across the property. One of the sweetest things Nephthalie mentioned in her review of her engagement photoshoot, was that I made her feel comfortable in front of the camera. Most couples ARE nervous to be in the spotlight for the entire day (and some cringe thinking about being in front of the camera), so this was one of the sweetest compliments to me. I always want to make my couples feel comfortable but honestly, these two looked like naturals! Ninety Acres was an incredible backdrop as well, with many private locations for photos.
Micro Wedding at Ninety Acres
After their wedding portraits, we headed inside to join their family and friends for their micro wedding reception dinner at Ninety Acres. Although it was only one table, Nephthalie and Tamir made it their own with custom menu cards, gorgeous wooden cutouts of their names, and wedding florals in the most vibrant fall color palette. They started their dinner with a prayer to say grace and ended with toasts of champagne. It was truly an evening of love and laughter, and I enjoyed capturing every single minute of it.
True Micro Wedding Inspiration
I have to be honest, even though micro weddings have become popular out of necessity over the last two years, I hope they never go away. As a New Jersey wedding photographer, I love to capture a wide range of wedding days: from extra large guest lists to intimate city hall elopements. But micro weddings truly do have a special place in my heart. Nephthalie and Tamir’s Ninety Acres wedding was so incredibly special, and I was beyond honored to photograph this moment in their love story.
