This photography and videography blog has been in the works for awhile. If you follow along regularly, you have likely seen Alan highlighted here before, but today I’m going to talk more formally about how we work together as a New Jersey photographer and videographer team. Although Mile Square Moments and Murphy Studio are individual companies, we have created joint packages so you can get the best of both worlds if you are a wedding couple looking for your dream photo/video team!
I’m going to share a little bit more about Alan , a little bit more about me than you usually see on the blog, and I’m going to tell you exactly what you can expect if you hire us as your New Jersey photographer and videographer team. You don’t want any surprises on your wedding day with the vendors you hire. If you love real weddings as much as we do, I’m also going to share a few of my favorites that have come out of the Mile Square Moments and Murphy Studio partnership. I want you to get a complete idea of what working together is like and decide if we’d be the best fit for your day. If you’re looking for a photo/video team, you can r each out here as space is booking up quickly for 2021 and 2022. We would love to capture your love story!

Getting to know your New Jersey photographer and videographer
Alan is a Hoboken wedding videographer, at least at heart. Technically Alan has now moved just outside of Hoboken, but he is still my favorite videographer to work with – just 30 minutes outside of the city. Put simply, he’s a wedding filmmaker, headshot photographer, and photo booth operator. There is a reason I chose to partner with him though – his easy going and just fun nature make wedding days so much fun and I just love the work we create together.
It’s been a while since I did a full intro, so in case you are unfamiliar with me – I’m Devin! The woman behind the camera here at Mile Square Moments. I have lived in the Mile Square City for seven years, which is like a lifetime in Hoboken years. Truthfully, I never expected to stay here this long but the love stories have kept me here. I recently bought a home with my husband Matt and I just can’t wait to continue putting down roots here in Hoboken.
Choosing a Photo/Video team for your wedding day
There are many advantages of booking a photographer and videographer that work together regularly. To start, we don’t get in each other’s way! One of the things you might not consider when booking your wedding vendors is that you want your wedding day photos and video to look good together. When you book Mile Square Moments & Murphy Studio, your wedding day photos and video will naturally have a cohesive aesthetic because we both shoot in very similar ways. If you like one of us, chances are you’ll like both of us.

In our wedding photo/video partnership, it goes so much deeper than just a cohesive aesthetic though. And before you ask – we’re happily married to two different people! Alan and I have a very similar style when it comes to actually working with our couples. We both want to really connect with our couples as people. We want to capture the real moments – the unposed and natural chemistry that naturally exists between each couple. On your wedding day, we don’t want to force you through a bunch of poses or prompts that don’t feel good to you. We want to document what’s actually happening on your wedding day. We’ve both found ourselves saying over and over again on the wedding day – we are here for the real.
We value telling YOUR real love story through your wedding photography and videography
We value real love stories and we genuinely have fun while we capture them. Chemistry is everything on your wedding day. Yes, yours and your spouse’s chemistry is important, but you also want your vendors – especially your photographer and videographer who are going to be following you around all day – to get along effortlessly. When you hire Murphy Studio and Mile Square Moments , we don’t get in each other’s way and we also have fun while we work. This makes our work even better .
We love to create spontaneous and fun moments throughout the day for our couples. One example I can share right now is from Chelsea and Jeremia’s micro wedding. While we were capturing Jeremia’s getting ready moments, he mentioned the song that was supposed to be their first dance song was embroidered in his jacket. They weren’t having a first dance anymore (COVID had other plans) but the song was special to them. Alan always carries around a bluetooth speaker and he had the idea to play the song right after the ceremony so they could have their first dance then. It was really sweet and it was really real. There was nothing posed about it and it just reinforced how I feel about working with him during my couples’ wedding days!

Hiring a Photo & Video Team for your Wedding Day: A Streamlined Booking Process
Although I would never suggest booking a photographer and videographer team for JUST this reason – it’s a major perk. It sounds silly, but the amount of emails you will receive while planning your wedding is a little crazy. In fact, it’s probably a good idea to start a separate email just to handle all the vendor communication.Your wedding photographer and videographer need more information than you’d expect – because we want to make sure we capture every single moment. Having to answer just ONE questionnaire or approve one single timeline is icing on the cake. There’s something special about knowing everything is taken care of from just one email (and invoice!).
Love a behind the scenes video? Alan and I both LOVE the Ryland Inn as a wedding venue, so here’s a behind the scenes of us shooting Ashley and John’s day there! You might recognize them (and should definitely check out more of their photos & watch their real wedding video) on the blog here.
