Kira and Will’s Hoboken wedding at Antique Loft will forever remain etched in my heart. The moments captured below overflow with raw emotions and authenticity, which I, as a wedding photographer, appreciate deeply. From the moment I started Mile Square Moments (many years ago now!), it’s always been important to me to capture the chemistry that naturally exists between my couples. Not only were Kira and Will naturals in front of the camera, but they also crafted a timeline that was beautifully unconventional and uniquely theirs, which I can’t wait to share more about below!
Mile Square Moments Review
Nothing warms my heart more than when my incredible couples leave a review after their wedding day (after all – they are busy enjoying married life!). Before I share more details of Kira and Will’s incredible Hoboken wedding at Antique Loft, I have to gush over these sweet words. It always makes me so happy to hear that my couples find inspiration from my blog (that’s truly why I make an effort to share real weddings regularly!) and the trust my couples place in me is such an honor every time.
Devin was my absolute favorite vendor for our wedding! Her blog and website brought me so much inspiration for my Hoboken wedding. And because she had shot at my venue before and knew the local area so well, I barely had to do anything and was able to trust her to find the best shots. She’s also great at navigating big families and herding everyone together to stick to a timeline (which is not easy!). Would recommend Devin to anyone looking for a photoshoot (wedding or other) in Hoboken!!
Starting on Court Street: One of my favorite Hoboken wedding photo locations
If you are a regular reader here on the blog, you’ll recognize Court Street as one of my favorite Hoboken wedding photo locations. It was here where Kira and Will’s wedding day began! Against the picturesque backdrop of charming brick walls and cobblestone streets, we began capturing their beautiful wedding portraits in the heart of Hoboken. From there, we wandered to the iconic Hoboken waterfront, with the Manhattan skyline serving as the most incredible wedding portrait backdrop. These views never get old – they truly feel like magic every time.
Family Portraits by the Water
Once we were near the W Hotel, we were joined by Kira and Will’s family for their family portraits. Although Kira and Will opted out of a traditional wedding party, they still wanted group pictures with their beloved family and close friends prior to the ceremony. Personally, I love when couples aren’t afraid to break the rules! In addition to taking formal portraits, I made sure to capture their genuine interactions and the love they share as a beautiful family. This allowed me to capture the essence of their energy and joy they shared between each other celebrating Kira and Will’s wedding day!
Wedding Ceremony at Antique Loft
Kira and Will, they defied conventions in countless ways (which was one of the reasons I loved their wedding so much!). But when it came to their ceremony, they embraced the traditional vows. There really is magic in the words of “for better or worse,” don’t you think? Will’s brother officiated so their wedding ceremony still felt incredibly personalized and meaningful as well. After their intimate ceremony, I couldn’t resist capturing a few more portraits of the newlyweds on the Antique Loft balcony. Love was truly in the air.
Extended Cocktail Hour
The extended cocktail hour was hands down one of my absolute favorite parts of their untraditional wedding timeline! Kira and Will created their wedding day timeline by doing what felt right to them and let me just say – I love them both for it. They wanted to make sure they had plenty of time to mingle with their wonderful family and friends so naturally, an epic extended cocktail hour was just the thing. And let me tell you, the balcony at Antique Loft set the perfect vibe!
Small Wedding Reception Ideas
While I was absolutely enamored with Kira and Will’s effortless love for one another, I wanted to have a moment and share some of the stunning details they put together for their wedding day. Their spring color palette of orange, pink, and blue was fresh and fun, and their champagne wall welcomed guests in the most incredible way. Last but not least, on each place setting they had a newspaper-esque stationery that shared a little bit more about their love story for guests to read and cherish as a keepsake from their wedding day.
Hoboken Wedding Reception at Antique Loft
The untraditional nature of their wedding day didn’t stop at cocktail hour. Later in the night, Kira and Will shared their first dance to a song performed by a talented friend. Instead of a regular DJ, they opted for a dynamic dueling piano player they discovered at the local House of ‘Que barbecue spot, conveniently located down the street from Antique Loft where Kira and Will often hit up dueling pianos on Saturday nights (and where their very first date took place!). The guests had a blast, belting out requests and dancing to the tunes while shaking tambourines provided by the piano player. It was absolutely amazing, and the fun just didn’t stop. Seriously – I would love to relive this wedding day over and over again.
As the sun began to set, I stealthily brought Kira and Will outside for their final wedding portraits. Hoboken’s Antique Loft made the most incredible setting, but I couldn’t take my eyes off their own “just married” glow.
Antique Loft Wedding
Kira and Will, what a wonderful duo! I consider myself lucky to have crossed paths with them and had the honor of capturing their wedding moments. Their story begins at Kira’s Super Bowl bash where fate intervened through a mutual friend. And because I love a love story, let me finish by telling you how they got engaged. One winter day in NYC, they strolled through a charming Christmas market before grabbing a bite to eat at their go-to Korean BBQ place. As the night grew darker and stormier, they found themselves back in Hoboken, walking along the waterfront at Pier A. It was there that Will popped the question and the rest, my friends, is history.
