Aubrey’s cousin was a past bride of mine (check out Natalie and Ben’s wedding at Crossed Keys Estate here!), and I can’t share their day without gushing over this sweet review. Referrals from past couples mean the WORLD to me. Natalie referred both me and my “go to” New Jersey wedding videographer – Alan at Murphy Studio. I had met Aubrey when she was a bridesmaid at Natalie’s wedding, but it was so fun to see her as a bride! Another bridesmaid from Natalie’s wedding (Gena, who is Aubrey’s older sister!) has booked me to photograph her wedding this August, which will mean three weddings within the DiLella family! I could not be more honored. I’m so excited to share Aubrey and Steven’s wedding at Battello Jersey City on the blog today.
I had heard amazing things about Devin and Alan but they completely exceeded my expectations. From beginning to end Devin guided me through all the preparation and curated my wedding day timeline. But on the actual day they were even better. I had so much fun with them and the results we got back where even better. I cannot recommend them enough they are basically family at this point.
Elegant and Chic Wedding Details
The wedding day morning started in Staten Island, where both Aubrey and Steven’s parents live. She got ready at her parents’ house with her side of the wedding party, and he got ready at his parents’ house with his side. I was a fly on the wall snapping up photos of their incredible classic and chic details, and documenting some of their sweet candid getting ready moments (scroll to see Aubrey’s grandpa taking her photo because it was one of my favorites!). Getting ready photos are always some of my favorites during a wedding day, and looking back at their gallery it’s easy to see why.
Afternoon Wedding Ceremony at Holy Rosary Church
Aubrey and Steven’s wedding ceremony took place at Holy Rosary Church in Staten Island, New York. The ceremony was incredibly meaningful and included the two of them exchanging traditional vows at the altar. After the ceremony, we took about half of their wedding portraits before heading to Battello Jersey City for more! The timing of the ceremony was perfectly set up so we could take advantage of golden hour.
Wedding Portraits at Battello Jersey City
The wedding day was in full swing as we headed over to Battello Jersey City after the Staten Island ceremony. I couldn’t wait to capture some amazing shots of the newlyweds inside this beautiful venue, and I wasn’t disappointed. The stunning architecture and decor made for the perfect backdrop for some truly memorable wedding portraits. And let’s not forget the waterfront views! We were able to snap some gorgeous shots of the happy couple lounging on the iconic leather couch at Battello, with the city skyline as our backdrop. It was picture perfect.
Chic Wedding at Battello Jersey City
Aubrey and Steven’s wedding at Battello Jersey City came to life in the most elegant and romantic way. From the stunning floral arrangements to the breathtaking view of the river, every detail was simply stunning. The gorgeous and chic fall wedding color palette of white, pale pink, camel, and black added the perfect touch of sophistication to the venue. However, what truly caught my attention was the floral installation of single-stemmed flowers hanging above the dance floor. It added a magical touch to the already charming atmosphere, and the string lighting only further enhanced the beauty of the display.
A Joyful Wedding Reception
Ultimately, Aubrey and Steven wanted their wedding day to be “filled with laughter, love, and good vibes”. After a tough personal year, it was even more important for their wedding day to be filled with joy. They wanted to remain present, soak it all in, and enjoy a time when they could just let loose and have some fun with their loved ones. The evening was filled with dancing, toasts, and great food. It was the perfect night for Aubrey and Steven. They were so happy to have everyone there with them, celebrating one of life’s greatest moments.
The Last Dance Of The Night
To finish off an incredible evening, Aubrey and Steven shared one last private dance. This is easily one of my favorite wedding “trends” right now. It’s so intimate and romantic. I truly can’t imagine a better way to end your wedding day. Aubrey and Steven’s wedding at Battello Jersey City was so special and memorable, and if you loved it as much as I did, make sure to read more NYC and NJ love stories here on the blog. Congratulations, Aubrey and Steven!
