Everything about Liz and Jesse’s wedding at Hudson House in Jersey City was larger than life – from their large wedding party to the giant smiles that appeared across their faces for the entire day. As a wedding photographer, I pride myself on being able to capture the genuine emotion that unfolds throughout a wedding day. For Liz and Jesse, that emotion was pure love and joy. If you have been considering planning a wedding at Hudson House in Jersey City (or anywhere else in New Jersey!), I think you are going to feel so inspired (and excited!) by their photos – and love story – today!
Real wedding photos from a wedding at Hudson House in Jersey City
While I could gush on these two forever (and will in this post!), I have to share this sweet review they left after I photographed their wedding at Hudson House in Jersey City. It makes me tear up just reading it!
We loved working with Devin and Mile Square Moments. Devin is extremely professional and organized making for a very smooth process from Day 1 to the Big Day. She really understood our vision of what we were looking to capture throughout the day and we were thrilled with the results.
Devin and her team collected some incredible images, both big and small, that we will cherish for the rest of our lives and we can’t thank her enough.
We were also blown away to be on our honeymoon a week later and already receive previews from the day. Devin was a great resource as a sounding board during the wedding planning process; whenever we needed help, Devin was always there. The extensive planning done upfront with Devin and her team allowed us to enjoy our wedding day and know everything would go off without a hitch. Devin is a rockstar and if you want the best wedding photography money can buy, Mile Square Moments is the only way to go.
New Jersey Engagement Photos
Before I share more wedding photos, I have to share just a few snaps from their engagement photos last year. I love planning an engagement photo shoot that feels incredibly authentic and personal to each couple, and a lot of that has to do with choosing locations. For Liz and Jesse, we spent part of their engagement photo session at Leo’s Grandevous – which was where they had one of their first dates. It’s also one of my favorite go-to spots in Hoboken. These restaurant engagement photos ended up being a few of my personal favorites!
Getting Ready at the Canopy by Hilton Jersey City Arts District
A wedding day truly begins during the “getting ready” portion of the day, and together with their wedding party, Liz and Jesse wasted no time soaking up every moment and getting excited for what was next to come! As they were getting ready, you could sense how important their friends and family were to each of them. It’s just one of the reasons why they are a perfect match.
Liz and Jesse originally met after mutual friends set them up. Jesse was at a friend’s Oscar Watch Party and met Megan, one of Liz’s good friends, and talked to her about where her and her now husband should go on their honeymoon since he was an avid traveler himself. From that one conversation, Megan instantly felt like he would be a good match for Liz, so she enlisted another mutual friend to make it happen. The answer was a big YES.
A First Look Before the Wedding at Hudson House in Jersey City
This view is the reason that Hudson House in Jersey City is one of my favorite wedding venues. I’m truly mesmerized every time. Liz and Jesse had their first look outside, and their smiles reached from ear to ear before they even saw one another. They literally ran to one another when the saw each other. Even sweeter, their wedding party cheered them on from behind the glass as the two of them saw each other for the first time on their wedding day! I love a first look, and this is why!
Large Wedding Party Photos
Liz and Jesse have larger-than-life personalities, and that generally means a lot of friends to celebrate with them. Liz also has a huge family (her mother was one of seven!) and five nephews and one niece. At their wedding at Hudson House in Jersey City, Liz had 12 stunning women on her side (plus a junior bridesmaid!) and Jesse had ten handsome men on his side! The group portraits were so much fun and I loved the classic and elegant navy and white attire! Everyone looked good and was ready to have a great time!
Wedding Ceremony at Hudson House in Jersey City
Every time I photograph a wedding at Hudson House in Jersey City, the energy always feels so classic and romantic. The view is simply breathtaking. From their first date in 2019 at Union Square when they drank too many gin and tonics and Jesse had texted her to set up the next date before Liz even got home, to their New Year’s Eve proposal when Liz didn’t even realize that Jesse was proposing and kept interrupting (until eventually he got on one knee and she said yes!), it was beyond clear that these two were meant to be!

From the mouthwatering food and playful signature cocktails to the classic table decor was a perfect blend of sophistication and romance. The navy and white table decor was timeless, while the statement mirror seating chart provided a modern touch that everyone loved. As a photographer, I know more than anyone that a wedding day is truly always a group effort, so be sure to scroll to the end for all of the vendor credits! Everyone came through to create an unbelievably gorgeous atmosphere for Liz and Jesse to celebrate finally becoming Mr. and Mrs.!
A Lively Wedding Reception
In case you haven’t guessed by the wide smiles in every photograph, Liz and Jesse had an incredible wedding day. By the time they entered their reception, they were ready to just ENJOY celebrating with their family and friends and remain present for the rest of the night. While I did sneak them out for some evening photos on the rooftop quickly, I spent the rest of the reception capturing all of those candid moments (from the toasts to the cake cutting) and soaking up all of the love these two have for one another!
A Wedding at Hudson House in Jersey City
Ultimately, Liz and Jesse have such incredible chemistry together, and I could relive their wedding day over and over again! It’s always such an honor to connect with my couples and be trusted to document their day, and I never take it lightly.
