Jacklyn and Rodrigo’s love story plays out like a romantic movie. If you’ve ever needed proof that “when you know, you know”, their love story is it. The two of them met on Hinge in August 2020 and didn’t end up meeting in person until Jacklyn flew across the Atlantic to visit Rodrigo in London in April 2021. Since then, it’s been a few trips across the pond and a lot of FaceTime. During one of Jacklyn’s trips to London, Rodgrio proposed over afternoon tea – one of the things they love to do together because “afternoon tea is fancy but we aren’t really fancy”. Their chemistry during their wedding photos was pure magic. I could not have been more excited to capture their intimate and striking winter wedding at Rutherfurd Hall.
Picturesque Winter Wedding Photos
Their wedding day started at Rutherfurd Hall, where I met Jacklyn for wedding day details before she put on her drop-dead gorgeous long-sleeve wedding dress and snapped photos of a private prayer over Rodrigo. We didn’t spend much time taking “getting ready photos” because honestly, these two couldn’t wait to see each other for their first look. We took a combination of cozy photos by the fireplace and striking outdoor winter wedding photos against the brick exterior and snow.
When I asked Jacklyn what she was most excited about on their wedding day, she first said that she was excited to get all dressed up. The second thing she couldn’t wait for? Was to exchange their vows in front of their family and friends (their winter wedding ceremony was absolutely dreamy, so keep reading!).
Future brides, take note – I loved this “first touch” before the first look! It was such a special moment and I swear they could have both burst into happy tears right then!
Cozy & Charm-Filled Winter Wedding Ceremony
Jacklyn and Rodrigo exchanged vows in front of the fireplace at Rutherfurd Hall. The entire wedding day was kept incredibly intimate, with only 50 of their closest family and friends in attendance. With Jacklyn leaving for London the same weekend, the two of them wanted to soak up every single moment with their family and friends. Every single moment of the wedding ceremony was touching and heartfelt.
Micro Wedding Reception at Rutherfurd Hall
Instead of a sweetheart table or a head table, Jacklyn and Rodrigo sat at the same table as the rest of their guests. After all, this was going to be the last time they would all be in the same space for a while. The ambiance was both romantic and intimate, with a live band playing and tall pillar candles and greenery adorning the tables. The crystal champagne glasses that Jacklyn and Rodrigo toasted with were a gift from Jacklyn’s late mother – she bought them in Ireland – and they were just icing on the cake during an incredibly moving and personal wedding day.
A Fairytale Love Story & Winter Wedding
I don’t like to overuse the term fairytale, but there are no other words to describe this winter wedding at Rutherfurd Hall (and the couple’s love story to go with it!). What I love even more about the two of them is that the adventures won’t end here. Jacklyn moved to London the same weekend as this winter wedding (romantic AND ambitious!), and the two of them are now traveling the world together. I was so incredibly honored to get to know them
